Ginkgo leaves

Dried ginkgo leaves come from the ginkgo tree (Ginkgo biloba) and are used mainly for herbal tea and wellness drinks. The dried leaves have a mild, green, herbal aroma and a slightly bitter aftertaste that works well in tea blends.

To make a cup, add 1–2 teaspoons of dried leaves to 200–250 ml of hot water (90–95 °C) and steep for 5–7 minutes. Strain and add honey, lemon, mint or lemon balm if desired. Steeping too long makes the drink more bitter, so keep the time short. In summer, the same infusion can be served over ice.

In the kitchen, ginkgo leaf is used mainly in drinks: herbal tea blends, homemade iced tea and flavoured plant-based drinks. A small amount can also be added to smoothies or herbal mocktails for a delicate green note. Use it sparingly as a seasoning, as its bitterness can overpower other flavours.

Ginkgo is one of the oldest tree species, and its leaves have a long tradition in herbal infusions. Our leaves are harvested and gently dried to preserve their natural colour and aroma. This product is intended as food and drink, not as a medicine, and does not replace treatment prescribed by a doctor.

Store the leaves in an airtight container in a cool, dark place, away from strong odours and moisture. Moisture can cause mould, while direct sunlight damages colour and aroma. Properly stored, the product keeps until the end of its shelf life.

Caution: ginkgo leaf may interact with blood thinners and other medicines. Pregnant and breastfeeding women, children and people with chronic conditions should consult a doctor before use. Do not exceed the recommended amount and keep the product out of reach of children.

Ginkgo leaves are available in 250 g, 500 g, 750 g, 1000 g and 1500 g packs. Larger packs suit tea houses, cafés and producers; smaller packs are ideal for home use.
